Qualified candidates must have experience/knowledge of general and detailed woodworking, cabinetry construction methods, materials, and components, the ability to read and interpret construction and architectural drawings, be proficient in the use of hand and power tools, and demonstrate the ability to problem solve.
The ability to work well with others in a team environment, be comfortable using technology, and work effectively under time constraints is required.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Fabricating display casework with functioning glass doors Execute woodworking or construction tasks as assigned by the Project Supervisor Complete daily work with precision and in a timely manner.
Cutting and assembling cabinets of all types Choosing appropriate materials and methods for each project Building exhibit walls and display surfaces Read and comprehend construction drawings Operate, maintain, and clean various power and manual woodworking equipment and tools aiding in the completion of build tasks Communicate effectively with other departments to complete tasks in an efficient and organized manner Facilitate, contribute to, and guide the careful, safe, and effective construction, installation, and maintenance of exhibit components.
Maintain the safety and cleanliness of all woodshop areas.
Enforce safe work habits in the woodshop.
Experience using veneers, laminates and finishes Good understanding of basic math Ability to follow directions and adhere to quality building standards Ability to lift 50 pounds Experience with the following equipment needed:
Power tools such as:
table saw, band saw, planer, nail guns, miter saw, track saw, and more, CNC router (not required but beneficial), edge banding machine, case clamp machine, and be proficient on the computer.
Must be willing and able to travel occasionally for installation of cabinets and exhibits.

Requirements for this position:
High school diploma 3 years of experience in scenic/themed environments is desired but not absolutely required A minimum of 3 years' experience in finish carpentry and woodworking Ability to work overtime, nights, and weekends (when necessary) to deliver projects on deadline Ability to travel to installation sites within the United States by car or airplane, sometimes for extended periods Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment Effective communication skills both verbal and written Job Type:
